Coláiste Mhuire, Ballygar, Co. Galway - Creative Engagement 2023

A brilliant week with the very talented students of Coláiste Mhuire in BallyGar, their attention to details was amazing. The workshop showed students a number of techniques, from controlling the spraycan to using stencils, templates and grid systems to map their artwork accurately to the wall.

Davis College Mallow, Cork - Creative Engagement 2021

Following the success of the 2020 workshops I worked again with TY students developing their art and design ideas on the theme of Nature. Students researched their subject areas and discussed with their class teachers as they brainstormed ideas, colours and images for the art piece. I then developed artwork and prepared materials with which the students could explore painting, stencilling, design, typography and illustration.

St Josephs CBS, Mayo 2021

Covid times involved a remote process, ideas and themes were generated by the students and the resultant artwork was painted onto MDF panels, these were then sent by courier to St. Josephs CBS Castlebar in Mayo for installation in the school.

Boherbue CS, Cork 2021

Large mural painted on the side of the school gym at Boherbue CS in North Cork. Artwork was created by the talented students there. The work was lead by the amazing principle there and funded by Cork County Council.

Griffith College Dublin 2020/2019

The videos above are from workshops with final year design students in Griffith College 2020 and 2019. In the most recent series of workshops lecturer Martina Maloney devised a novel brief in which students would have their designs painted onto the sides of 6 large cubes which would be placed on campus. In 2019 I gave a mural painting workshop to final year design students also.

I then developed artwork and prepared materials with which the students could explore painting, stencilling, design, typography and illustration. You can view more images here.

Coláiste Pobail Setanta, Dublin - Creative Engagement 2020

Transition year students from CP Setanta came up with some ideas that expressed the schools ethos of Misneach (Courage) - Bród (Pride) - Meitheal (Support). From this I developed a visual idea of helping hands which became the theme for the mural. I created paintable stencil designs that would be painted by the students in a series of workshops, unfortunately due to Covid 19 the workshops didn’t happen but I did get to come in and paint them a mural in their canteen. You can view more images here.

Woodale Youth Justice Program, Dublin - Weather the Storm 2020

I worked with staff and youth members of Woodale Youth Justice Program to paint the exterior of their centre in Darndale Dublin 15. We worked on a theme of resilience, weather the storm became a theme for the young people to express themselves through a testing time during Covid 19. I gave workshops in stencil art and each members idea added constructively to the piece.

Dublin City Council Culture Connect - Winter Lights 2019

Spent a fun month working on the Winter Lights Project with transition year students in Presentation Secondary School Warrenmount and Kylemore College Ballyfermot. Inspiration came from themes of community and Dublin at winter time. Artwork created by Warrenmount students was then being projected onto Civic Offices, whilst the Kylemore Students artwork was projected onto Ballyfermot Sports and Fitness Centre.

Cork City Council, Urban October - Chalk Stencilling Workshop 2018

I worked with Cork City Council to deliver this workshop outside the Opera House in Cork City. I set up a theme based on the River Lee and created stencils that ages 5 and up could paint onto the pavement using semi-permanent chalk stencils, it was a playful workshop and kids got to express themselves through elements of the river onto the street.
